Why we are backing Talku

Nigeria's education system provides limited support for children with developmental and learning disabilities, leaving many families to bridge gaps in learning outside the classroom. While special-needs schools and therapy centres play an important role, learning often becomes inconsistent once children return home due to limited access to structured resources and caregiver support. We are supporting Talktu because we believe inclusive education extends beyond the classroom and requires active collaboration between schools, educators, therapists, and families. By enabling structured home-based learning, strengthening caregiver engagement, and providing personalised support for children with developmental and learning disabilities, Talktu is helping create more consistent and inclusive learning experiences. Through the Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship, we will support the team in strengthening its approach and demonstrating how technology can improve learning continuity and educational outcomes for children with special educational needs across Nigeria
